Hermès hates fakes (and burns imperfections!)

How much can you pay for a Birkin? What could you do for having a Birkin? And what is the most famous and glamour bag? Ok, that's a Birkin. Everybody wants HER. Everybody dreams HER. I think that most of us spend a lot of time choosing the color, the tissue, the mood of this dream bag. But...nobody wants to pay 6000 $ for her so...there comes the fakes. Last month, the legendary luxury house, Hermès, shut down 34 counterfeit sites. Hermès, helped by the French police, won 100 million dollars in damages. Apparently, the illegal operation was making millions in Hermès counterfeits and they were doing it all with the help of actual Hermes employees. “This operation concludes a one-year investigation following an Hermes complaint based on clues and abnormal behavior identified through the house’s internal monitoring systems” Hermes told WWD. Yes, have you ever heard things like "Oh yes, that's a fake bag but...that's well done!"? A well done fake? How many well done Louis Vuitton monogram have you seen? Damn! I can't even recognize a true Louis Vuitton monogram from a false one! Because they are all (or almost all) well done. And...don't you think that there is the hand of the employees? 
After the "scandal" where in a picture Tyler Shields destroyed and then lit on fire that $100,000 Birkin, according to Mulberry's Emma Hills, Hermès burns his own imperfect bags. 
“No one can touch them in terms of quality. A friend who was working at Hermès said that if there was even the most minor imperfection on a bag they would take it out the back and burn it – no compromise.”. Yes maybe that's an exaggeration. I don't really think that they burn those very expensive tissue for a minimum imperfection. But...we want all the best for 6000 dollars, no? 


Quanto paghereste per una Birkin? Cosa fareste per avere una Birkin? E qual è la borsa più famosa e glamour di tutte? Sì, è la Birkin. Tutti la vogliono, tutti la sognano. Credo che molti di noi passino molto tempo a scegliere il colore, il tessuto ed il mood di questa borsa da sogno. Ma...chi può e vuole pagare 6000 dollari per una Birkin? E qui in molti ricorrono al fake. Il mese scorso, la leggendaria maison di lusso Hermès, ha fatto chiudere ben 34 siti di vendita di borse Hermès false. Aiutata dalla polizia francese, la maison ha ottenuto un risarcimento di ben 100 milioni di dollari. Pare che l'operazione di contraffazione  sia stata aiutata da alcuni dipendenti di Hermès. "Questa operazione conclude un anno di indagini a seguito di una denuncia Hermes basata su indizi e comportamenti anomali individuati attraverso sistemi di controllo interni della casa" ha detto Hermès a WWD. Avete mai sentito quelle risposte tipo "Sì, è una borsa falsa, ma è ben fatta!"? Un falso ben fatto? Quasi vero? Quante monogram di Louis Vuitton false ma ben fatte avete  visto in giro? Cavolo, io non so neanche riconoscere una monogram falsa da una vera da quanto sono ben fatte! Perchè in effetti sono tutte (o quasi tutte) ben fatte. E...non credete ci possa essere lo zampino dei dipendenti delle case di moda a volte? 
E dopo lo "scandalo" di poche settimane fa che vedeva le foto di Tyler Shields dove una Birkin prendeva fuoco, Emma Hill di Mulberry ha dichiarato "In termini di qualità sono intoccabili. Un amico che stava lavorando da Hermès ha detto che anche se c'era una minima imperfezione su una borsa la portavano indietro e la bruciavano. Nessun compromesso!". Sì, questa sarà un'esagerazione. Non credo che da Hermès brucino quei tessuti costosissimi per una minima imperfezione. Ma...tutti vogliamo solo il meglio per 6000 dollari, no?
